What is forestry mulching, and when is it better than clearing?
Forestry mulching grinds standing brush and small trees into a mulch layer right where they stand — no burn piles and no hauling. It is usually the better call for trails, view corridors, fence lines and invasive knock-down, and the mulch layer helps hold topsoil on a slope. When you need bare, workable ground for a building pad or driveway, traditional clearing and grading is the right tool.
Can you work on steep mountain lots?
That is most of what we do. Western North Carolina lots come with grade, rock and limited access. We size equipment to the access you have, plan the cut and fill before we start, and build in drainage so the finished site holds up through a wet season.
Do you repair storm and flood damage?
Yes. We stabilize scoured creek and stream banks, rebuild washed-out driveways and yard, reset or upsize culverts, and armor slopes with rip-rap, matting and geogrid-reinforced walls so the next high water has something to push against.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — LWM Consulting LLC is fully insured, and we are glad to provide a certificate of insurance before work begins. Just ask in your estimate request and we will send it over with your quote.
